“I love it when a plan comes together” – Hannibal from the A-team

MARK DERCKSEN

After completing studies focused on Economics, Management & Organizational Sciences in 1995, Mark started working as a Change Management Consultant. Coordinating transformations for big international companies/organizations in ICT, Infrastructure & Transport, Tax-departments, Professional Services, and Finance & Pharma, Mark learned that change is a matter of sequence.

Mark believes change, coming from a strategic angle or from operational performance perspective, needs to be broken into pieces. It needs to help the teams to start, but also stop doing things. He shares that there are people that need concrete small steps and there are people that see the bigger picture and do not want to drown in details, and all should be aligned to strengthen each other. Lastly, he states “Managing change is a matter of think big, act small and show results. If everything works well and the machine gets going, we have the ‘I love it when a plan comes together’ moment.”

Once Mark moved to Switzerland in 2012 he took the time to reflect and concluded that unlocking talent really drives value in working life on personal and business levels. Working in Switzerland, Mark has been increasingly engaged in value creation projects and transformations where applying the value of talent got more into the core of the approach.

Mark is a typical campaigner who connects easily within all levels in the organization. Raising the right questions and listening to everything that comes back is a core skill of Mark. He diagnoses on all the info, but also is a master in designing a solution in co-production. Finally, he has a very long and deep experience in implementing working results. He is enthusiastic and can get energy in a group.
